Obesity Medicine Association (OMA)

“I found the information very interesting and feel motivated to do some version of this for our patients.”
The Deliverables
For the past three years, more than 150 healthcare professionals have gathered at the annual Obesity Medicine Pre-Conference workshop. The task was to transform a hotel conference room into a dynamic pop-up teaching kitchen where participants could engage in over 12 hours of immersive learning. The workshop combines didactic lectures, hands-on cooking sessions, and interactive exercises to provide a comprehensive educational experience. The deliverable included the development of course materials and activities aimed at equipping healthcare professionals with the skills to integrate culinary medicine into their practices.
The Outcome
The workshop has been highly successful, providing participants with practical insights on integrating nutrition and lifestyle practices into obesity medicine. Every participant (100%) indicated they would recommend the workshop to colleagues, and 95% agreed the content was directly applicable to their work environment. Participant feedback was consistently positive:
“The information provided was palatable and easy to digest. Also, a lot of good networking.”
“The workshop expanded my horizons and gave me a lot of great ideas for practice and implementation.”
